As usual, many people helped to make this an excellent event. Some of those people are; the gentleman who had the crane ready for everyone coming off the water on Saturday afternoon, you can’t imagine what a difference this makes when you come into the basin and discover you don’t have to go on a key hunt before you can lift the RIBs out; George Burns, not only did George supply his usual Galley service throughout the weekend but he also provided the Saturday evening meal, each boat could have up to four half price tickets for a delicious three course meal, David Wheldon and David Matthews brought the whole event together, David Wheldon also spent the entire weekend on the water working as mark layer on Saturday and assistant Race Officer on Sunday; Mark Henman the PRO completed ten races in the two days and got everyone off the water at a reasonable time, Mark had a willing team around him but he kept them going and focussed. We also had brilliant sponsorship from Goacher Sails, Hartlepool Marina and Wombat Clothing. The three companies provided vouchers, equipment and clothing for the superb prizes, it is not often you have a chance to win.
