slab reefing on a new Selden boom

As a ‘new’ Sonata owner I have been rigging the control lines on a new boom. My experience says that the reefing line/s should pass out of the opening/s in the side of the boom, up to the clew/s and down to a fitting where it can be tied off with a stopper knot. The boom was supplied without any such fittings , (save for the kicker and mainsheet attachment rings in the track underneath) and it was suggested that end of the reefing line should be tied to the ring fitting the end of the boom, creating a pull down and a outhaul at the same time.

It does not look right – can some-one inform me if this is correct or do I have a boom with some fittings missing? Advice welcome from anyone who knows the correct answer. A photo of the arrangement would be good if it can be put posted for a short while. Sounds like basic stuff but as we are the only Sonata in our club – we need help. Thanks in anticipation Song1 :unsure:

I don’t have much help I’m afraid other than to say that my set up is the same as the one you were expecting with the tie off points.
