Does anyone know where I could get a full size set of drawings for the Sonata fixed keel?
I want to cut profiles to check the symetry of the keel.

Hi fmeredith,
Simply Sam obviously sails a Topper or something else where keels don’t matter! A poor keel, particularly if twisted will make the best tuned boat sail like a dog.
A full set of dimensions are available here, complete with sections:
You can get a good idea of whether your keel is “true” by marking two points on the toe rail on either side of the boat (measure fwd from transom) then measuring from each point down to the toe and heel of the keel, distances should be the same (give or take a few millimetres) on either side.
The section is less critical but can be checked side to side by knocking up cardboard cutouts at various points down the keel and comparing the fit on either side at the same distance down (or up) the keel.
It ain’t rocket science but it works!

May be ringer hunter boats as they made the boat!!
and i wouldnt worry seems petty to me
