I have been the owner or an Intro 22 for about a year. as there are no forums or info for my boat and that the Sonata was designed off the Intro i thought this is as good a place for me to join.
I had a small Seawych 19 before the intro and got the intro for £2400 at my club. it came with a trailer and outboard.
i unfortunately ran aground in june last year while a new member was at the helm while i was playing with my new lowrance gps, we wre towed off the sand bank and the rudder was snapped in half leaving the majority left somewhere in the mud. the outboard bracket had also become torn in half. I had a temp rudder made up at the club but it wasnt balanced very well and was very very verrrry heavy to helm. often needing one crew to push and pull with leg power along with the helm. luckily GJW covered the accident on insurance and i got a new rudder made up with measurements from two other intro owners as well as basing the new rudder off the Sonata design. It was custom made to order from Tony Mackillikan. the boat now handles superbly. and i hope to have the rudder for many many years to come.
