Yes yes, got myself a Sonata… and a nice test of it was to sail it home, sailed/motorsailed 397 nautical miles in 10 days, about 50/50 engine/sail had no time to wait for wind…
The boat behaved very well in rough conditions, and sailed even better than I had hoped for Must admit we were lucky with conditions though, very little upwind, and when we had it, we could often stay on one tack most of the time. With my previous boat the wind always seemed to be in the face, the Sonata brings luck :-)..
Most people consider it a bit of a lightweight boat, but I come from an 18 feeter weighing 500 kilos, so to me it was very steady and more like a big boat. And the space inside…..more than enough for two…
Only thing that worried me a bit, is that the deck seems a bit soft in some places..It feels like it stretches a bit some places in the cockpit. Would be nice if somebody else had the same experience, and could say that it was no problem )…
Am doing some small work on the boat now, some wood needs tending to, and the hull needed some work to get its color back, as it was very dry…
Oh well, I am now a “real” member of the Sonata community..yippeee ;o)
