Wonder can anyone help me please.

I am in discussion about the purchase of the above boat, which is based in Troon and was wondering if anyone has any information or history that may be handy about the boat.

I am waiting to get pics sent and it sounds like it could ne a good first Sonata.

She used to be owned by Jim Dominy and sailed on Windermere for a number of years…….Jim got her into very good condition and also got her sailing quite fast. I know she ended up in Kip and was left on the hard for a few years, I believe because the owner was working away. I’ve no idea if that is the current owner!

Are you having her surveyed or doing it yourself?

regards

I think I would probably be better getting it surveyed.

It seems a decent price at £4000 including trailer, he said that there is 1998 sails that have never been used.

I am just waiting for photo’s.

Feels like a decent price for a Mk2 Snotty!

I know until a few years ago she was owned by a friend of my brother….. cant remember his name. But the boat during the years he owned it was not raced and was generaly fair weather sailed as a day cruiser often solo.

I remember it being in very good condition and was complete below decks. At the time I last saw her she was sat on the hard on a purpose built galvanised indespension trailer. If its still on that trailer (all be it that could be a 10 year old trailer by now) I would say 4k sounds like a steal. But then boats can go down hill fast if not looked after i suppose.

I will ask my brother if he remembers more.

Any suggestions who would carry out a survey on the boat in Troon and what sort of cost may be involved.

Got sent the pics and it look okay but it would be better to get a survey.

Cheers
