my lift keel now gets stuck half way down and as its now in the water i cant get at it could it be that the keel is warped or the wire is kinking on the way down any help would be appreciated

A solution while afloat.

To get the plate back up – slowly drive your Sonata aground on a suitably sloping concrete slip way. Make sure there is some tension in the wire, and you will soon find out if the [May need several attempts and also heeling to get back off. Seems unatural to run aground – but it worked for us.

This is probably caused by compressed mud and ooze up the slot. – probably best to try to get it back up again rather than force down in the first instace.

I have a Sonata with a stuck keel but mine is all the way up and is rust welded, we have been told take it of strip it down, poor hydrocloric acid on it and that should free it completely. that might work if you want to do it porperly before next season.
