Can anyone tell me where a replacement [aluminium, as original] stanchion may be obtained?

Can anyone tell me where a replacement [aluminium, as original] stanchion may be obtained?

Hi John,

Link below to Seamark Nunn who I think sell the original type. I replaced mine two years ago but went for the S/S type instead so not 100% sure that these are the correct ones.

Perhaps some else could confirm this?

Best regards,

George Jack.

If John means the stanchion base rather than the stanchion itself there are a number of internet based suppliers.

Google the part number YS7157B and you will see what I mean. Last year when I was trying to get a base in a hurry there was a national shortage of the things. Hopefully not a problem now but would be worth a phone call to check supplier’s stock rather than just ordering on line.

YS7157A has all the same holes as the original part but does not have the butress.

Part no YS7157A is a smaller size base with different hole centres when compared to YS7157B.

Looking at the spec on the web site I see what you mean. Interesting because I used one on my boat last year and it fitted fine into the old holes.

Thanks to Robert and George

With your help I quickly contacted SL Marine who had the parts in stock. They are very good to deal with.

I actually wanted the stanchion but discovered I coudn’t separate the old, bent stanchion from the base so had to get one of those too at short notice. The relevant parts numbers are Base: YS7157B and Stanchion YS7165A. Both fitted exactly. Thanks.
